Alyssa is also a certified AKC (American Kennel Club) Canine Good Citizen’s Evaluator and AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Evaluator. Alyssa has had the pleasure of serving as lead trainer and assistant manager at Sit Means Sit Raleigh.
She is well equipped to help owners overcome their biggest obstacles with their dogs. Alyssa discovered that she’d found her niche within this company, and she understands that the bond between a dog and their owner is valuable.
Alyssa takes pride in confidently assisting her clients to establish a healthy bond while also maintaining a happy, confident, and obedient dog. Her outstanding desire to serve the members of her community and their furry loved ones, alongside her desire to teach Sit Means Sit training techniques encouraged her to expand to a new community, here in Greensboro and the surrounding areas!
When Alyssa isn’t training, you can find her enjoying nature on hiking trails or kayaking down local lakes and rivers, as well as visiting local breweries and eateries with friends and family.
Assistant Trainer
Skylar has been surrounded by dogs her entire life, fostering a deep love and understanding of canine companionship from an early age. She fondly recalls helping to wean puppies as a child, which laid the foundation for her lifelong passion for working with animals.
Skylar is the proud owner of Shelby, a 9-year-old German Shepherd/Malinois mix. Over the years, she has dedicated herself to understanding and managing Shelby’s reactivity, a journey that has made their bond stronger than ever. Since joining Sit Means Sit in May 2023, Skylar has worked hard to improve her skills as a handler, learning techniques that not only strengthened her relationship with Shelby but also helped her empathize with and guide dog owners facing similar challenges.
Before her time at Sit Mean Sit, Skylar gained valuable experience in the daycare industry, working hands-on with a variety of dogs for two years. This background, combined with her ongoing training and dedication, has equipped her with the tools to support dogs and their owners in achieving harmony and success.
When she’s not working, Skylar enjoys relaxing at home or hitting the trails for hikes with her dog and boyfriend. Whether at work or in her personal life, she’s committed to helping dogs and their humans live their best lives together.
